Kevin Phillips has stated that Leeds have to get a win in the next few weeks, even if it means not necessarily playing good football.

The Whites will be hoping to improve on their recent form having seen themselves win just once in their last eight fixtures. Leeds were at one stage 11 points clear of third place, not the gap is just four.

On Saturday, Marcelo Bielsa's side fell to defeat at QPR as Nahki Wells netted to condemn them to a third successive loss. Leeds now have a massive game coming up when they host top six contenders Millwall a week on Tuesday.

Phillips has insisted that they now have to win their next game by any way possible whether it's scrappy or not doesn't matter.

Speaking on EFL on Quest, Phillips said: "It's happened in previous seasons and the pressure is on now, teams are trying to catch them.

"They played magnificent down at Arsenal a couple of weeks ago but they need a win, even if it is a scrappy one to get back to winning ways."

The Verdict

Leeds are in serious trouble and the slide is well and truly on for the club as they seemingly replicate last season's poor run of form that saw them miss out on the top two.

The Whites have one of the best squads in the league and arguably one of the best managers but they seem to have a mentality problem whenever they get into the position to be potentially promoted to the Premier League.

They have to sort it out, and Phillips is right they just need to win now, by any shape or form otherwise the run could keep getting worse and worse for the Whites.
