It's safe to say that it's been a frustrating start to life with West Brom for Kamil Grosicki, who has struggled for consistent game time with the Baggies.

Grosicki signed for Slaven Bilic's side in the January transfer window from Hull City, but is yet to make a league start for them in his seven appearances.

But he scored for the Baggies in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in a friendly behind closed doors, as they stepped up their preparations ahead of a return to competitive action on the weekend of the 20th June.

West Brom are currently sat second in the Championship table, and are six points clear of third-placed Fulham with nine matches remaining in this year's campaign.

Speaking in an interview with West Brom News, former Baggies striker Kevin Phillips insisted that Grosicki needs to remain patient for his opportunity to impress in the future.

"He hasn’t had many opportunities but he’s a good player. He’s had to be patient, as a lot of players have done.

"When you get an opportunity you have to take it and playing behind closed doors in a friendly match, it doesn’t matter, you’ve still got to impress."

Phillips went on to state that he doesn't expect to see Grosicki involved much for the remainder of this year's campaign, unless there are injuries to Slaven Bilic's side.

"I feel he’ll only get his opportunity if someone gets injured or if there’s a loss of form in the space of the nine remaining games. It might be tough for him.

"His only opportunity might be through injuries. You expect injuries because players aren’t completely up to scratch and there’ll be injuries early on. You have to be ready to play."

The Verdict:

I think he'll have to remain patient for now.

Grosicki has already shown that he can play to a high standard in the Championship, having been hugely impressive with Hull City in the first-half of the season.

West Brom have better options available to them at this moment in time, with Matheus Pereira and Matt Phillips keeping him out of the starting XI.

Bilic is unlikely to make too many chances to his side from now until the end of the season, and Grosicki needs to remain patient for his opportunity to impress.
