Paul Cook led Portsmouth to the Sky Bet League Two title this campaign, after finishing the season on 87 points, the south coast outfit, ended their four year stay in the division.
They will now be hoping that they start climbing the leagues and get back playing in the higher divisions.
Since the end of the season though, Paul Cook has left the club and joined Wigan Athletic as their new manager and Portsmouth have turned to Kenny Jackett as the man they wish to take the club forward.
Jackett, has had success in the Football League with the likes of Swansea City, Millwall and Wolverhampton Wanderers, so knows what is required to get a team out of a division.
With the summer transfer window not to far from opening, Jackett, will be looking to recruit some of his own players to ensure Portsmouth are well equipped for League One football, next campaign.
One area that the new manager is going to have to recruit is in the goalkeeping department, as they only have Alex Bass as registered first team goalkeeper.
With this in mind, the club should turn to experienced shot stopper Paul Robinson.
With his contract shortly running out at Burnley, Robinson, will be looking for a new club.
Having started his career at Leeds United, he was given his first team break through in 2002 with then club, when then Leeds manager Terry Venables chose him ahead of Nigel Martyn, and he went on to make over 100 appearances for the Yorkshire outfit.
Following his seven year stay at the club, Robinson, moved to London and joined Tottenham Hotspur, where again he went on to make over 100 appearances for the club before returning up North and joining Blackburn Rovers and then Burnley last season.
With Portsmouth only having one first team goalkeeper on their books, adding Robinson would bring a wealth of experience to the club and they could be of benefit to the team having a safe pair of hands between the posts next season.
