Kenny Jackett has stated that Portsmouth aren't currently looking at anything imminent on the transfer front.

Pompey have been in wonderful form in recent weeks, and were excellent on Saturday as they beat Championship side Barnsley at Fratton Park to progress to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

The South Coast side will be looking around in this last week of the transfer window, but know that they have to get the move right in order to not unsettle the squad ahead of a crucial few months.

Portsmouth currently lie in eighth place in League One, and sit just one point outside of the play-offs. They do have one or two games in hand on a lot of opponents and will hope to be in with a hunt of promotion come the end of the campaign.

Jackett has expressed that there's a couple of enquiries for one or two players but that there is nothing currently set to happen soon at the club.

Speaking to the Portsmouth News, Jackett said: "There’s a couple of enquiries on one or two, but nothing imminent."

The Verdict

Portsmouth may need one or two to ensure that they finish in the top six come the end of the campaign.

They have been very good in recent weeks and are starting to show the type of side that they are. Saturday's emphatic victory would have been a big boost in terms of confidence.

If a player does arise who Jackett is interested in, Portsmouth are sure to make a move as they are a couple of serious quality players away from a very good squad.

If the Championship is to beckon, then Jackett may have to look for just one or two more in the next five days.
