Leeds United striker Kemar Roofe has shared an update praising the club's travelling fans and the support shown during their 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Roofe shared the update on Instagram along with a photograph of the Whites sold out section of the Riverside stadium.

"We refuse to give up with this kind of support behind us," he wrote.

After an uneventful first half, which the visitors just shaded, Boro took the lead thanks to a classy finish from exciting young attacker Lewis Wing in the 47th minute.

But in the eleventh minute of added time, they stole a point, thanks to Kalvin Phillips close-range header to ensure that Norwich did not pull far away at the top.

The result meant that they did fall two points behind the Canaries, however, after they comfortably beat Ipswich Town 3-0 at Carrow Road on Sunday.

Leeds will have the chance to put things right on Wednesday, however, when they come up against Swansea City at Elland Road.

The verdict

It cannot be underestimated how much this kind of support will help a team during a push for promotion.

Yes, Leeds have always travelled in big numbers so it is clearly not just them, but during sticky spells like this they will need the fans to help push them through.

Elland Road will no doubt be rocking again on Wednesday as they go in search of a badly needed three points.
