Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe has praised head coach Marcelo Bielsa for the impact he has had on helping him improve his game this season.

The 26-year-old is enjoying his best season for the Whites since joining three years ago, scoring 14 goals in 29 Championship appearances, despite facing two separate spells on the sidelines through injury.

Roofe was speaking to the media alongside his manager yesterday, ahead of tomorrow's Championship clash with Wigan Athletic at Elland Road.

When questioned on how much Bielsa has helped him improve his game this season, Roofe was quick to praise his head coach for the influence he has had.

"Massively because everything he has brought to me this season is new and I have been learning all season," Roofe said, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"Every day is something different so it's good. I am enjoying it. It's hard not to enjoy it when you are winning games," he added.

"I have learnt a lot this season and hopefully I have shown that as well."

Leeds are currently second in the Championship table, three points ahead of third-placed Sheffield United and four behind Norwich City in the race for automatic promotion.

With just four matches to play, the Whites have the chance to take a major step towards the Premier League this weekend, by delivering back-to-back wins against Wigan and Brentford.

The Verdict

Roofe is right to praise his manager, after what has been an outstanding season for both himself and Leeds United.

Bielsa has done a brilliant job since arriving at the club and the impact that he has had on the players at Elland Road is there for all to see.

The football he has brought to the team is brilliant to watch and fans will be hoping that the team can finish the season with promotion.
