Kemar Roofe has warned Leeds United that Wigan will not be an easy game for them this weekend, pointing to their performance in last Sunday’s draw with Norwich City.

Leeds are battling at the opposite end of the table to Wigan with four games remaining this season, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side having eyes on the Premier League whilst Paul Cook’s Latics look to avoid an instant return to League One.

However, Wigan produced a battling display to draw 1-1 with Leeds’ promotion rivals Norwich last weekend, with Roofe warning his teammates ahead of this Friday’s meeting with the Latics.

“There's no easy games,” Roofe told the press yesterday, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“Every game is a focus on that game only, we saw what they could do against Norwich.”

Bielsa’s side enter the fixture in good form, though, having recorded back-to-back wins in recent weeks and three in their last four fixtures.

That’s left the Whites in a strong position to record promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004, but four huge fixtures await Leeds.

Tomorrow’s fixture with Wigan kickstarts things, with Leeds then heading to Brentford on Easter Monday.

Dean Smith and Aston Villa then visit Elland Road on the penultimate weekend, before Leeds make the trip to Portman Road to take on Ipswich on the final day of the season.

The Verdict

There are no easy games in the Championship - Roofe is spot on.

Leeds are going to have to be at their best against Wigan if they are to win, and beyond that, it is important that the Whites keep up that level of form.

All eyes are on them, with many expecting them to slip up. Roofe and his teammates must remain focused and make sure that doesn’t happen.
