Leeds United overcame a resilient Swansea side at Elland Road on Wednesday evening, as they returned to the top of the Championship table.

Goals from Jack Harrison and birthday boy, Pontus Jansson proved to be enough on the day, despite a late penalty being converted by Swansea's Oli McBurnie.

One man who has struggled for goals in recent weeks though has been the club's top goalscorer, Kemar Roofe.

The 26-year-old hasn't scored in his last five league games, which surely will be a concern for Roofe and Marcelo Bielsa heading into a crucial period of the season.

But Roofe seemingly isn't letting that faze him, and expressed his delight at returning to the top of the table with a post on his

Leeds will be hoping to maintain their stay at the top of the table, and they now have their destiny in their own hands which will be pleasing to see.

A potential return to the Premier League would be long overdue, and supporters will feel as though the squad they have, is more than good enough to win promotion this season.

The Whites take on relegation-threatened, Bolton Wanderers at the weekend, where they will be looking to extend the gap between themselves and the promotion chasing pack behind them.

The Verdict:

Leeds were fully deserving of all three points in this one.

They were in cruise-control for the majority of the game, and it's pleasing to see them beating teams that could easily have caused them problems.

They need to remain focused though, and shouldn't get carried away.

Especially after previous seasons in which they have fallen away from the promotion chasing sides.
