Plymouth has signed Crewe Defender Kelvin Mellor on a two year deal.
The defender was released by Crewe earlier last year after a six year stint with the club. However the 23 year old has been taken on by the Pilgrims, who he has signed a two year contract for. Mellor has become the Pilgims 6th summer signing, when he got announced at 11:30 this morning.
Mellor has been a key player for Crewe, playing in 91 games including the league two play off, and Johnstone Paint Trophy winning campaigns. In his first few seasons at Crewe he was on loan at numerous clubs in the non-league pyramid.
He is the latest recruit to the Pilgrims’ squad following the signings of Lee Cox, Peter Hartley, Deane Smalley, Reuben Reid and Carl McHugh, who have all put pen to paper during the close season.
