Sky Bet League One outfit Rochdale have raced out of the blocks this season domestically, but their boss Keith Hill is keen to play down any talk of promotion.

Dale currently sit fifth in the league table following Tuesday night's 3-2 win over Shrewsbury Town but the boss doesn't think his side are as well equipped to keep up the pace as other teams.

Hill will be hoping his team can continue to defy the odds when they take on Bradford City at home this weekend.

Bradford have started the season poorly despite early backing from the bookmakers and the Dale boss will be hoping his side can continue their fantastic home form.

Hill told the Manchester Evening News: "We are a very good team when we get everything right - and I think for two or three games this season we have done.

"But if you have three or four players at Rochdale who are not performing to their maximum, then we struggle.

"At another club you may get away with it because of the calibre of player. I am not decrying that we haven't got the calibre of player, but we are strong together, strong in the way we do things and support one another."

Hill is in his second spell managing Rochdale and he will no doubt be hoping his side can withstand the pressure they are applying on the play-off contenders, and challenge for a place in the Championship.

Keith Hill will surely be hoping to implement some consistency in their form, as the League One side have failed to win consecutive league games since the first two games of the season.
