Keith Andrews has stated that Reading striker George Puscas has all the attributes to 'really shine' in the Championship.

The forward netted a quite magnificent five minute hat-trick on the weekend which doubled his league tally to six goals this season.

Puscas has had a difficult start to life in the Championship, and would have hoped to have scored a higher number of goals considering the amount of clear-cut chances that the striker has had so far this season.

The Romanian joined from Inter Milan in the summer, and Reading are hoping to continue the 23-year-old's development into a top class player.

Andrews has expressed that he must be full of confidence right now after his treble, and that he could kick on now and really start to show his talent in this division.

Speaking to the EFL Podcast, Andrews said: "He has struggled in recent weeks, there is no getting away from that and I'm sure it was tempting for Mark Bowen to leave him out.

"For that decision to get vindicated, and the confidence he must be feeling now going into training, [means he] cannot wait for the next game.

"And hopefully that can be the catalyst where he kicks on now because I do think he has the attributes to really shine at this level."

The Verdict

Puscas has all the making of a striker that is going to score goals in the Championship. He is fast, strong and gets into the right positions, but he just has to make sure he continues to take his chances like he did against Wigan.

It is an unforgiving league, and I think he found that out after a really tough spell without a goal. This hat-trick should spur him on now to go on and achieve bigger and better things for Reading.

If they can keep him firing, then the Royals have one of the best strikers in the league in their side, and he could fire them up the table.
