Tony Pulis' men went into the contest without a win at the Riverside in four league games, but their perseverance paid off after Jordan Hugill opened the scoring for Boro in the 38th minute.

The West Ham loanee then scored his and Boro's second goal just six minutes later, with a sumptuous finish after Martin Braithwaite's wicked cross - a fine finish from the powerful frontman.

The 26-year old has found it tough in front of goal having gone without a goal in ten games, but his hard work ultimately paid off after a magnificent display on Saturday afternoon.
