‘Keep my money’ – Many Leeds United fans unite following classy Radrizzani gesture

A classy gesture from Leeds United has filled the Elland Road faithful with pride.

Leeds have been out of action since the first weekend in March, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side seeing their promotion push placed on hold as public safety takes ultimate priority.

Sport will not return until at least next month, but even then, it’ll be behind closed doors, meaning if Leeds get the chance to win promotion the ‘right’ way, they won’t be able to celebrate with their fanbase.

And, on the back of that, Leeds have released a statement confirming they are working on refund options for season ticket holders and those that had pre-purchased tickets for the remaining five home games.

A classy gesture, but one that Leeds fans are pushing to waver, with many seeing it as spent money.

Nevertheless, the Elland Road club are coming out of this period with huge credit, with one pointing to how much he trusts Andrea Radrizzani given a series of good decisions.

Take a look at what fans on Facebook had to say…

Mark Richardson: “Amazing to read these responses. I love everything about our club. This deserves to be shared in the media. Proper supporters who have stood by the club through so much. I hope we’re all rewarded with promotion. MOT.”

Max Weatherhead: “You can keep my money. I am a season ticket holder and I have never trusted an owner as much as I do Radz. If you do give me money back it will all be put back into the club through the club shop.”

Brett Elam-Campbell: “I have 3 season tickets for me and my two lads.. Keep my money for the remaining home games this year!! You have helped create memories for me and my two lads that will last a lifetime and that my kids will pass on to the future generations! If refunds are made please do gift vouchers for the club store! At least we will know the money has gone back into the club! ALAW! MOT! Side before self every time!”

Darrell Wike: “As far as I’m concerned it’s money spent. It’s not part of my budget so won’t miss it. Side before self!!!! Like I posted a while back. Use it to put a big party on at the ground for NHS staff in Leeds area to show appreciation. I’d be more than happy for the club use my money for that. #mot.”

Ian Johnson: “Don’t need a refund, just love how this club has regained it’s dignity over the last couple of seasons. We used to be the laughing stock, now we are the envy of most if not all clubs. Tons of respect for the Management, Mr Bielsa, the players and the best fans in football! Come on Leeds, let’s finish our Centenary year with promotion to the Premier League. MOT.”

Andrew Grayson: “The players started the trend with the wages deferral , best football we have seen at our place for nearly 20 years , club can keep my money I’ve had more than it’s value already ALAW.”

Jon Cockcroft: “I’m with the majority on here, I’ve had more than my money’s worth. Please make sure there’s an option to reinvest the money back in the club Marching On TOGETHER.”
