Birmingham City loanee Odin Bailey is set to return to the Blues following the curtailment of the League Two season and many fans of the Midlands club have been debating whether he should be given a chance in the first team next term.

The 20-year-old forward has spent the second half of the season with Forest Green Rovers, scoring one goal and providing one assist in five games before the delay began.

Late last week, League Two clubs voted to bring an early end to the 2019/20 campaign, meaning Bailey's loan deal had come to an end.

A product of the Blues academy system, Bailey was given his senior debut by Pep Clotet at the start of the season and featured seven times before he was sent out on loan in January.

The 20-year-old, who is comfortable playing across the forward line and in attacking midfield, has shown he is capable of producing in clutch moments – grabbing a 90th-minute winner against Middlesbrough back in October.

The emergence of Jude Bellingham has proven just how beneficial it can be to trust in youth and Birmingham will likely be facing a decision this summer – whether to loan Bailey out again or keep him and use him in the senior side.
