Chey Dunkley scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season yesterday in Wigan’s 2-2 draw at Bristol City.

Wigan signed Dunkley from Oxford United on a free transfer in June 2017, following their relegation from the Championship. The defender played a vital role in Wigan’s title winning season, alongside Dan Burn.

Paul Cook rewarded Dunkley’s performances by giving him a chance to showcase himself in the Championship. Considering he had never played at the level, and had a number of defensive partners throughout the season, he done very well. A strong, quick defender, but needs to learn on picking up striker's movement. However, overall he is a solid player that is improving all the time.

In his first two seasons, Dunkley never scored a goal. Remarkably, he has five already this season. The defender netted his first two goals for the club away at Hull City in a 2-2 draw, before scoring the opener in a 2-0 win over Charlton Athletic just a week later.

Yesterday, Dunkley netted another couple of goals from corners to earn Latics a 2-2 draw at Bristol City. He is becoming a real leader at Wigan and one of their best players.

Here is a look at what some of the Latics fans made of his performance yesterday...
