Cardiff City hosted Nottingham Forest at The Cardiff City Stadium last night in a game which ended in defeat for the Bluebirds with a 1-0 scoreline.

Alex Smithies kept out a couple of efforts from Sammy Ameobi before Ryan Yates blazed over the bar after being picked out by Matty Cash inside the area.

Lewis Grabban had a shot go inches past the post as he got a toe to Joe Lolley's low cross. Cardiff had a penalty appeal turned away by referee Stephen Martin moments before the break as Cash appeared to foul Josh Murphy in the area.

Forest broke the deadlock four minutes after half-time when Tiago Silva guided in a deft effort from Grabban's low cross.
