Wolverhampton Wanderers fans are enjoying life, as we approach the end of the season, as their most recent outing saw the Midlands outfit defeat play-off hopefuls Leeds United.

With that victory, Paul Lambert's side have recorded six victories in their previous eight matches - near enough top-six form - the two defeats came against Brighton & Hove Albion and Bristol City.

The manager has done something to change the club's fortunes on its head as a potential promotion push is on the horizon for next campaign, as long as they keep this momentum going.

However, Lambert will have to start considering what he'll be doing during the summer in terms of transfer dealings, especially his current squad.

There's a few who just aren't good enough but could become useful in the future, and the Scotsman may decide to loan them out, decide to keep them as a utility player or axe them all together.

So here are THREE players that the boss will either keep, axe or loan out at Wolves this summer......

George Saville

The midfielder has been on the first-team fringes in recent weeks despite featuring in the win at Elland Road, with his last appearance prior to that game coming at the beginning of the month.

George Saville has proven his trade at League One level at Millwall and a drop down to the third-tier may be the best option for the 23 year-old - even having played 28 matches in all competitions this season.

He will struggle to get a similar amount of game time next year as I'm sure Paul Lambert will seriously reinforce the midfield, making his chances become more restricted, although I would hope there's still a future for Saville at Molineux and I'd loan him out to track his progress.

Joe Mason

Joe Mason hasn't really cut it in the Championship this season following his lack of goals throughout the course of the campaign, which could be one of the reasons as to why Wolves have struggled in the league.

The forward had been utilised quite a bit by Paul Lambert but his injury earlier in the year hasn't helped his cause, bagging on just four occasions.

The 25-year-old's future is in jeopardy as the manager will want to have a prolific frontline and Mason may not fit the bill, although, if he has a strong pre-season then that could help the club in their promotion push and it's worth keeping the striker for now.

Mike Williamson

Of course, players often do fall victim to injury proneness throughout their careers and Mike Williamson does unfortunately fall into this category, but that won't be an excuse to prolong the inevitable departure of his from Molineux.

The veteran defender has found game time at Wolves hard to come by with a measly 355 minutes of football this season, something a lot of footballers would determine their future.

Williamson is probably taking up a large percentage of the wage bill at the club and I think he hasn't proven enough, despite his time on the sidelines, to warrant an extension on his deal - the centre-back needs to be axed this summer.

Wolves supporters, do you agree? Who else's future could be in jeopardy in the summer? Would you keep George Saville and/or Joe Mason? Does Mike Williamson have a future at the club? Give us your opinions in the comments below!
