Bristol City midfielder Kasey Palmer has shared a message jokingly accusing teammate Callum O'Dowda of being selfish on the ball.

It follows a comical photograph taken during the Robins' clash with Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon in which the former Oxford United man carried the ball into the box, with a waiting Palmer watching on behind him.

Sharing the shot on his Instagram story, Palmer said: "When you want the ball but Callum decides to dribble past everyone."

It was a match that eventually finished 2-2, with goals from Andreas Weimann and Pedro Pereira doing enough to earn a point with Chey Dunkley netting twice for the visitors.

Palmer is a huge fan's favourite at Ashton Gate, and even more so after completing a permanent move from Chelsea in the summer, scoring once and assisting three more so far this term.

O'Dowda on the other hand has had a more frustrating season, largely being limited to substitute appearances and managing just one assist, although he did start against the Latics.

Friday night sees the Robins travel to Yorkshire to face managerless Barnsley, knowing that a win will see them rise into the top two for the time being.

The verdict

There is clearly a real feeling of camerarderie within the Bristol camp at the moment and that will go a long way to ensuring that they are able to bounce back from disappointing moments such as a home draw against Wigan.

Barnsley represents a great chance for them to put things right so expect to see them really going at the Tykes from the start tonight.
