Huddersfield Town star striker Karlan Grant has outlined how he feels the side are playing better football under the Cowley brothers.

Karlan Grant moved to the John Smith’s Stadium in January while the club were still in the Premier League, however, the appointment of Danny Cowley and his brother Nicky has seen the club taste relative success for the first time in well over a year.

Prior to their appointment, Huddersfield were in free-fall following their relegation and had not won a single game in the Championship, but they now sit comfortably outside the relegation zone, looking to build momentum heading into the new year.

Their revival came with a seven-game unbeaten run under the Cowleys, to which Grant was instrumental in securing consistent results. The former Charlton striker has already hit ten goals for the season and registered two assists in 18 league games, which is formidable form given the changes at the club.

Speaking to the club’s official site, Grant commented on the influence of the coaching staff: “We are playing better football under the Cowleys.

“We are gutted we haven’t got more points from the last few games.

“We’ve been getting into the right situations but we just need to start taking our chances.”

In Huddersfield’s last two games, they have drawn both at the John Smith’s Stadium 1-1 when they will have thought they dominated and did enough in the final third to get all three points, but two draws is still positive given their start to the season.

How good is your knowledge of one of Huddersfield's greatest recent victories?

The Verdict

Grant is right to give praise to the Cowleys because it is obvious how big their impact has been since their arrival, with Huddersfield already moving from rock bottom up to 19th. All but one of the Terriers’ points this season have come under their management.

Up next is two tough games for Huddersfield as they make the trip to Ashton Gate to face seventh-placed Bristol City, before welcoming West Yorkshire rivals Leeds United to the John Smith’s Stadium.
