Nottingham Forest will face competition from Norwich City, plus MLS sides DC United and New York City, if they wish to make a move for veteran QPR defender Angel Rangel according to Mirror journalist David Anderson on Twitter.

Rangel 36, signed a short-term deal at QPR back in August, but with the deal expiring in January, clubs may be tempted to make a move for the player in the transfer window.

But would Rangel be a good signing for Forest?

We discuss.....

Jacob Potter

They should steer clear of a move for Rangel.

The QPR full-back has been in good form for Steve McClaren’s side this season but it’s fair to say that he doesn’t have age on his side.

He wouldn’t be an upgrade on Tendayi Darikwa so it would be a needless signing and a waste of wages for Nottingham Forest this season.

George Harbey

It would be a decent signing, but do they really need him?

Tendayi Darikwa has been very impressive under Karanka, as has Saidy Janko since his arrival on loan from Porto.

If the latter was to depart, then Rangel would provide decent cover, but aside from that, do they really need him?

George Dagless

Karanka should swerve this one.

Rangel is a decent player and a good pro but he is only going to get older and Forest have options already.

I don't see the need for this one.
