Nottingham Forest added another draw to their tally at the weekend as they earned a point from their clash with Swansea City.

The Reds have failed to really click so far this season with a number of new players coming into the club over the summer.

Indeed, Aitor Karanka has struggled to find a system that gets the best results and that is something he needs to sort sooner rather than later.

One man not in his imminent plans, though, is Gboly Ariyibi with the winger turning down a loan move away from the club not so long ago.

Karanka has revealed, though, that he won't be playing for the club this season via the Nottingham Post:

"I think always it is better to go to play competitive football.

“If you want to progress and improve, it is impossible to do so when you are only training every day, without playing.

“You need to compete, you need to win, you need to play. That is my philosophy.”

Clearly, Ariyibi is well down the pecking order at the moment and it seems clear that he perhaps should have moved away.

The Verdict

Karanka can only be honest and with the number of players at the club he is well down the pecking order.

The winger didn't fancy the move away, though, and now it remains to be seen what he can do in training between now and January.

Certainly, though, it seems tough to make a case for him to start featuring.
