Nottingham Forest have been very active this summer in the transfer window but it appears that they might not be done yet.

The season gets underway this weekend coming in the Championship and the Reds are fancied by many to put together a serious run at promotion.

Certainly, when you look at the players they have managed to bring in so far you can see why that is the case but it looks as though there is still areas they want to improve on.

Indeed, right-back appears to be one with Sam Byram linked and manager Aitor Karanka recently discussed the situation regarding the West Ham man.

As quoted by the Nottingham Post, he said:

“It is true that we are trying to sign one, but we are going to be really careful about our signings. We have been careful with all the signings we have made and we are not going to make mistakes now.

“I do not know yet (what the situation is with Byram)."

A new right-back is wanted, then, and Byram seems to be the name still doing the rounds so it remains to be seen if the Reds can get this one done.

The Verdict

Karanka has assembled a fine looking squad for the Championship this season.

There is class and quality across the pitch and if Byram joins he'll only add to that.

With that in mind, then, you've got to say the Reds are going to be there or thereabouts this season in terms of the promotion race.
