It's an exciting time to be a Nottingham Forest supporter.

The Reds are really going for it in this transfer window and broke their club record transfer fee, signing attacking midfielder Joao Carvalho for £13.2m.

Aitor Karanka has well and truly stamped his mark on the Forest side, wasting no time in offloading any deadwood and sealing deals for an array of European talent.

There is a distinct Portuguese mark being left on the Forest team, with a number of the club's new signings originating from there.

As it stands, Forest are one of the favourites for promotion to the Premier League, and fans of the club will be hoping for a return to the Promised Land after years and years of missing out.

Currently, the squad is looking in good shape to achieve that, but there are still a handful of players that clearly don't have a future at the City Ground and subsequently need to be axed as soon as possible.

Here are two players in particular that Karanka has to axe this week.....

It is extremely clear that Michael Mancienne has no future at the City Ground, with Karanka 'hoping' that he finds a 'good club' in this transfer window.

The defender was set to join Turkish outfit Çaykur Rizespor, however a move seems to have broken down.

Mancienne made over 120 appearances for the Reds, but his time at the club definitely is up.

Yes, Apostolos Vellios is still at Nottingham Forest.

The Greek striker is very unlikely to feature much for the Reds next season, so it is time for Karanka to wield the axe on the former Everton forward.

Vellios has struggled to hit the back of the net on a consistent basis at the City Ground, and will benefit from a move away.
