Bristol City will not want to end up back near the bottom of the Championship table again next season - and that means Nigel Pearson will have to do some work this summer to sort his side out.

He's managed a few transfer dealings so far, bringing in five new signings and letting go of four more players.

The addition of Kal Naismith from Luton really caught the eye from the Robins and Mark Sykes has also been snapped up on a deal from Oxford.

The club then are certainly doing some smart business so far and with the season set to begin next week, here is the best team that they could lineup with in their game against Hull.

There should be a few new signings slotting straight into the equation here, with Naismith likely to form part of the three-man centre-back trio. That should come alongside Robert Atkinson and Timm Klose and should allow the Robins to be fairly solid at the back.

Kane Wilson, having signed for the club from Forest Green Rovers after an impressive 2021/22 season, should also be thrown straight into the mix on the right hand side of the field, as a bit of a right wing-back. The midfield remains fairly solid too, with Han-Noah Massengo one of the most eye-catching players in the side on his day.

Up front for City is another exciting player in Antoine Semenyo. Unless a transfer deal happens between now and the Hull game, he will surely get a start again for the Robins alongside the more experienced Chris Martin.

Finally, rounding the team out at the back is Daniel Bentley. He was the preferred option in the last campaign and even with the addition of Stefan Bajic, he might get the nod at first for Bristol City over the new signing from Pau.
