Tottenham Hotspur may have the biggest game in their history on the horizon but that will not stop them keeping one eye on the transfer market.

And it looks like they could be about to dip into it, starting with a bid for one of the Football League's brightest attacking talents.

On Tuesday it was reported by the MailOnline that Spurs were ready to launch a £10million bid for Leeds United's exciting young winger Jack Clarke.

But what should Tottenham fans make of this rumour?

Well, here to break it down is Louie Chandler with today's six-point opinion...

1) Is £10million a fair price?

"I think it probably is.

"When you consider David Brooks was bought for that same price by Bournemouth a year ago having played a similar amount of games in the second-tier you have to say it is fair.

"Had Clarke not been struck by a mid-season illness we could have been looking at a lot more, however."

2) Would he suit Spurs?

"Definitely.

"Clarke is a direct, attacking talent with electric pace. If he can form a good partnership with either of his full-backs then he could have a real impact.

"Harry Kane will absolutely love playing with him as well with the quality of delivery he has in his locker."

3) Would he start under Pochettino?

"From the off? Probably not.

"But Pochettino has shown that he is not shy in throwing young players in when he feels they are ready so it would not be long until Clarke got his opportunity.

"Dele Alli cemented his place in the side almost immediately after stepping up from League One so there is no reason Clarke cannot do similar."

4) Just how good can he be?

"I would expect to be in contention for an England call up within a season.

"You see a lot of young players who are pacy and direct but so many of them lack the final delivery that Clarke possesses - that is where the difference lies.

"He could easily play for Spurs for many years."

5) Who should be fearing his arrival?

"Erik Lamela will be looking over his shoulder I am sure.

"The Argentinian is already on the cusp of the side so adding a young, exciting Englishmen in to rival him further will be the last thing he wants.

"But who knows? Maybe the arrival of Clarke will kick him into gear."

6) Will Leeds be willing to sell?

"They will definitely be willing if slightly reluctant.

"The Whites will not want to lose an exciting youth product before he has had the chance to make a mark at his own club but money talks and I they will definitely be open to offers."
