Derby County have had a very disappointing start to the season and they are currently bottom of the Championship.

Boss Phillip Cocu was active in the transfer market and there was a hope that the new recruits could transform this team into top six contenders.

That hasn't really happened so far and here we analyse one of those additions in Kamil Jozwiak. The 22-year-old arrived from Lech Poznan with a lot of expectation and has featured in eight games this season.

How's it gone so far?

It's been hugely frustrating.

Firstly, we have to be clear that Jozwiak is a gifted player and he has already shown in the opening weeks of the season that he has the potential to thrive at this level.

However, for a combination of reasons, it hasn't clicked so far. Injuries have prevented him getting a real good run together and the problems in the team mean he hasn't really settled.

Jozwiak was controversially denied a late goal against bitter rivals Nottingham Forest and that kind of sums up how it's gone.

Derby County quiz: Can you name the club’s top goalscorer from the last 13 seasons?

What issues does he face?

Like most Derby players, he will be wondering what happens with the manager.

It seems inevitable that Cocu will lose his job once the takeover has gone through and that puts every individual in the same boat, they will want to impress the new man.

As well as that, he will want to stay injury free and show what he can do on a regular basis.

What's next?

The wide man has the potential to be a talisman for Derby and he just needs time to continue to adapt to English football and the Championship but there won't be concerns about the player from any fans.

Given his age, Jozwiak's best years are in front of him and there will be an excitement about how he can improve in the future.

He is sure to be a key man for the club moving forward.
