Leeds United have moved this weekend to make their stance over Kalvin Phillips known to those clubs wanting to sign him.

With a host of interest in the midfielder, Leeds have reportedly moved to slap a whopping £30m fee on the head of Phillips as they look to put off potential clubs wh0 might believe they can take the Leeds midfielder off their hands.

Phillips was an integral part of a Marcelo Bielsa side last season which came agonisingly close to winning promotion to the Premier League, and he will of course play a massive role next season if he does indeed remain at Elland Road.

But with so much tug of war going on it seems over Phillips, just how will he be feeling with regards to his club putting such a heavy price on his head?

Well, Phillips should be taking this move by Leeds with immense pride and enjoyment, just for the sheer fact it shows how much the club value him and his presence within the squad.

While there's always the chance of Premier League wages swaying his decision over the summer, the stance from Leeds should fill Phillips with the confidence that he is integral, important, and put simply, crucial, to how Leeds want to play under Marcelo Bielsa.

We saw last season just how good he was in the system Bielsa deployed, and he will once again be expected to do the same role next season.

It is, naturally, easy for Phillips to see a chance in the Premier League and want to take it with both hands, but sometimes moves like this from your current club can just about sway your decision to stay with a team you're already well settled in and used to.

Phillips is loved by Leeds fans, a popular member of the Leeds squad it seems, and valued massively by one of the world's most respected managers.

If he does indeed decide to move on, then you cannot say that Leeds have done everything in their power to ensure Phillips stays put at Elland Road.
