Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has posted a video of teammate Ben White being presented with the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Championship Player of the month award for August on Instagram.

White was one of six players nominated for the award and won with a huge share of the vote, receiving 44%.

The 21-year-old joined on-loan from Brighton in the summer and was hugely impressive his first month of Championship football, helping his side keep three clean sheets and concede the fewest goals in the division.

White was presented with the award at Thorp Arch today and it appears that Phillips caught him in the act.

The Leeds midfielder took to Instagram to post a video of White receiving the award and praised him for his performances.

In a caption on the video, he said: “Ben White. 1 month in the Champ and gets player of the month.

“Too easy for the kid.”

The duo have featured in every single game for Yorkshire club so far this season and seem to be building chemistry on and off the pitch.

This isn’t the first time that White has featured on his teammate’s Instagram, as Phillips has previously posted a video of the defender revealing his secret talent.

The pair’s performances have helped the Whites to climb to the top of the Championship.

The Verdict

Both White and Phillips have been integral for Leeds this season and their work both defensively and with the ball at their feet has been a big part of Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s success.

The video is encouraging as it shows the respect between Phillips and White, and is further evidence that the two get on well.

The pressure and expectation are high on the Leeds squad this season and you feel strong squad chemistry on and off the field could be key to ensuring they seal promotion.
