Kalvin Phillips has sent a message to Leeds United fans on social media, after the 1-0 win over Brentford in the Championship last night.

The Whites continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought win at Elland Road - thanks to a late winner from substitute Eddie Nketiah.

Nketiah - who joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Arsenal on transfer deadline day - was on hand to tap in Helder Costa's pass from close range, just four minutes after coming off the bench on his home debut.

Leeds are now top of the Championship table on goal difference and have equalled last season's impressive start of ten points from their opening four matches.

The 23-year-old wrote: "Tough game but good win! EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE!"

Phillips was a key player for Leeds in the Championship last season and has started every game for the Whites so far this term.

The Verdict

It was a tough game for Leeds last night and the players had to work really hard to get the victory. I'm sure it would have been a huge relief for almost everyone inside Elland Road when Nketiah scored the winner.

It was an important victory for Leeds too. It sees them equal last season's impressive start and continue their momentum.

I'm sure Phillips and his Leeds teammates would have been delighted to see Nketiah score on his home debut and it will give the striker a huge confidence boost.

Leeds will be hoping to continue their momentum with another win against Stoke City at the weekend.
