Leeds United got their promotion bid back on track with a 1-0 win over Bristol City at Elland Road last weekend.

The win ended a winless run that had stretched to four games for Marcelo Bielsa's side, and they'll be hoping to put together a positive run of form heading into the final 13 games of this year's campaign.

One player that certainly made a significant impact for Leeds against the Robins was Kalvin Phillips, who was making his first appearance back in the starting XI after serving his suspension for a red card against QPR earlier this term.

Speaking in an interview with LUTV (quotes sourced from the Yorkshire Evening Post), Phillips is keen to get back on a winning run of results, and labelled from now until the end of this year's campaign as 'a new start'.

"I've come back to try and do the best for the team. We've had two good results in the last two games so hopefully we can keep it going.

"We now know that the point gap we had is gone. It's basically a new start to the season."

Phillips has made 32 appearances this season for Leeds in all competitions, and there is no doubting that the Whites are a better team when the midfielder is present in the centre of midfield.

The 24-year-old is remaining hopeful that they can make a long-awaited return to the Premier League this season, and is focused on the task at hand with Marcelo Bielsa's men.

"We've got thirteen games to get as many points as we can and hopefully get promoted.

"We know we have to knuckle down and concentrate as much as possible and work as hard as we can as a team."

Phillips and his Leeds team-mates are next in action on Saturday, when they host Reading at Elland Road, in a game they'll be expected to pick up another three important points from.

The Verdict:

Leeds can't afford to get ahead of themselves after the win over Bristol City.

I'll admit that it was an impressive and dominant win over the Robins, but the Whites will know just how quickly results can change.

Marcelo Bielsa's side struggled for positive results before that game, and they'll be well-aware of the threat that Reading will pose this weekend at Elland Road.

But if they can treat this game as any other match, then I see no reason as to why Leeds won't win promotion into the Premier League this season.
