The Leeds United squad have taken part in an open training session during their pre-season tour to Australia as they prepare for friendly matches against Manchester United and Western Sydney this week.

Marcelo Bielsa's side touched down in Perth over the weekend and they have stepped up their build-up to the double header by training in front of Whites supporters at HBF Park.

Kalvin Phillips was among those to turn out in front of the Leeds fan base, despite the speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League following his impressive form last season.

The defensive midfielder was an integral figure to Bielsa's side, making 42 appearances as the Whites narrowly missed out on the Championship play-off final after losing out on automatic promotion to Sheffield United.

Phillips' strong performances have seen him linked with the likes of Aston Villa, Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, but Leeds are reportedly holding out for £30million for one of their key men.

After the training session, the 23-year-old took to Twitter to thank the Leeds supporters who turned out down under:

The Verdict

Leeds will be desperate to keep Phillips at the club given how important he was to the side last season, and this message at least suggests he is not pushing for a move away.

Phillips has also featured a fair amount on Leeds' social media channels this summer which could be a subtle suggestion of the club's confidence in retaining his services next season.

This will be due to the Whites demanding such a high fee for his services, in addition to their knowledge that Phillips will be desperate to help Leeds to the top-flight next season.

However, although the midfielder is unlikely to push for a move this summer, I could see his head being turned if a Premier League club meets Leeds' asking price.
