Leeds United narrowly missed out on a place in the play-off final, as they suffered a shock defeat to Derby County in the semi-final at Elland Road in midweek.

But there have been a number of players that can hold their heads high after such an impressive season under Marcelo Bielsa as they fell short in their promotion bid.

One man that certainly covered himself in individual glory was Kalvin Phillips, who hardly put a foot wrong all season, and will be frustrated that he couldn't cap off an excellent season with promotion to the Premier League.

Phillips took to Twitter following the disappointing end to Leeds' season, and he insisted that he and his team-mates won't give up in their dream to reach the Premier League.

The midfielder has been key to the success of this Leeds team, and his cool head in front of the Whites' back four, makes him a real asset to have in this Leeds squad.

Phillips made 44 league appearances in total this season (including the play-offs), and Leeds badly missed him in their side when he didn't feature for them throughout the course of this year's campaign.

It has been reported by Football Insider that Phillips is attracting interest from AFC Bournemouth ahead of a potential summer move, with the midfielder seemingly making a good impression on a number of clubs in this year's campaign.

The Verdict:

What a player he has been for Leeds this season.

The Whites have looked like a completely different team when Phillips has been in the squad, for all of the right reasons.

Leeds will have a fight on their hands to keep hold of him next season, and if they can do that, then I think they'll have every chance of winning promotion back into the Premier League.
