Kadeem Harris has urged Sheffield Wednesday to show ambition in the transfer market this summer, after speaking to the Sheffield Star.

The 26-year-old has made a positive impression since arriving from Cardiff City in the summer, after falling out of favour under Neil Warnock.

The winger has scored three goals in 38 appearances this season, with 34 of those appearances coming in the Sky Bet Championship under Lee Bullen and Garry Monk.

Can you get these 7 Sheffield Wednesday questions correct?

It has been a tough second-half of the season for the Owls - despite mounting a play-off push in the first few months of Monk's reign, they have slipped to 15th after picking just one win from their last 10 games.

Monk will undoubtedly be keen to strengthen his squad this summer as he looks to turn his side's fortunes around, and Harris has urged the club to sign some quality players in the summer.

As per the Star, Harris said: "We’ve got a good squad. So the players who have got remaining contracts for the season after this season, they’re very good players.

"I’m not worried, it’s just going to be very interesting to see what happens now with who the club bring in.

"It’ll be great to see them bring in some very good players, you know? To have that ambition to get promotion, because I think the club is way too big of a club - with too much history behind it - to be in the Championship. The fans deserve to be in the Premier League, and I think it’s important that the club show that ambition."

With the likes of Jacob Murphy, Connor Wickham and Josh Windass all entering the final month of their loan spells at Hillsborough, and the likes of Sam Hutchinson and Fernando Forestieri set to be out of contract, Monk will be eager to replace these kind of players in the summer.

The Verdict

It has been a difficult second-half of the season for Wednesday and this has left fans upset to say the least.

I feel as if Monk needs a full summer to reshape his squad and bring in his own players, as he's only had 30 or so days to do that since becoming Wednesday boss.

He will be eager to bring in some top quality players to help galvanise a promotion push.
