Nottingham Forest concluded a successful January transfer window this morning following the announcement of winger Gboly Ariyibi from Chesterfield, as confirmed officially by the club.
At 22 years old, Ariyibi rose through the youth ranks at Southampton player with players such as Luke Shaw and James Ward-Prowse.
The USA Under-23 international called Chesterfield his home in 2014 and went on to make 75 appearances for the Spireites before signing for Forest this January.
Although lacking Championship experience, except for two games in a brief loan spell at Leeds United, Ariyibi will undoubtedly bring much needed pace and strength on the wing to this Forest side.
News of Ariyibi’s signing appears to have brought a mixed reaction among the Forest faithful with some pleased and some unsure on how he will turn out.
