Football League World's Derby County fan pundit Lisa Howard has backed the club to move for Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe in the January transfer window.

The Rams were linked with the former Liverpool man during the summer, according to The Sun (11/08, p.59), having previously spent time on loan at Pride Park and Howard believes that he could be just what is needed.

"Derby are short of natural wingers at the club," the regular punter told Football League World.

"So I think making a move for Jordan Ibe in January would be a good move.

"He has been on loan at the club before and was a decent loan signing at that time. He would be a great addition to the squad and just the type of player we need."

So far this season Ibe has made just two Premier League appearances for the Cherries, both as a substitute, and with the summer arrival of Harry Wilson, has fallen further down Eddie Howe's pecking order.

Last time he was on loan with the Rams, however, he netted five times in 24 appearances and Howard is confident that the 23-year-old could recapture that form in the East Midlands again.

"If we were to get Ibe in January he would be the winger that the club needs," she said.

"We are lacking on that front and miss the type of player who can get down the wings at pace.

"We play very narrow at times and he would bring natural width to the squad."

It has been a dreadful opening seven matches for Phillip Cocu and the Rams, currently sat in 19th place with just one win to their name.

This weekend sees them travel to Leeds United in what will be a high intensity game and another loss for the Dutchman will really see the heat turned up.
