After two back-to-back defeats and three league games without a win, Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp was looking to bolster his squad in order to reignite their push for promotion to the Premier League in the 2013/14 campaign.

After a 3-1 home defeat to play-off hopefuls Reading, the R's had dropped to third in the Championship table, and sat four points off second place Burnley, with the R's automatic promotion chances looking slimmer by the week.

The West London club needed a lift, and here in this FLW Rewind, we take a look at when Queens Park Rangers completed the 93-day loan signing of Ravel Morrison from West Ham United.

Morrison arrived at the club with high expectations having been a standout, regular performer for the England under-21s, and was undoubtedly still an exciting talent despite falling out of favour at Upton Park since his arrival from Manchester United.

Naturally, the news came out of the blue, and was a huge yet pleasant surprise for the Loftus Road faithful...

And these QPR fans were right to be excited at this signing, as Redknapp got what he wanted out of the talented midfielder - a player who could provide some real energy and creativity in the R's midfield.

The 25-year old scored six goals and produced two assists in 17 games for the Hoops, and was influential as the R's secured promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Since his loan expired at Loftus Road, Morrison's career has stagnated ever since and is currently massively out of favour at Serie A side Lazio - but the midfielder will always be highly regarded at Loftus Road...
