Sheffield United suffered another defeat last night as they lost to Middlesbrough 3-0 at the Riverside Stadium.

The Blades were looking to bounce back from their loss at home to Swansea on the weekend but were soon out of the game as Boro raced into a 3-goal lead well before half-time had even come around.

Certainly, it was not the sort of performance we've come to expect from the Blades under Chris Wilder and Leon Clarke's numbers only reflect that further in our latest FLW Spotlight:

One of last season's best players, Clarke just could not have an impact on the game yesterday with chances going begging - including a gilt-edged one.

What was perhaps the most concerning thing for Blades fans, though, was that as one of the main attackers on the pitch, his link-up play simply was not good enough.

His passs success rate was only just over 50% whilst only one of those proved to be a key pass that led to a chance.

For a player that looked so dramatically improved last season, this was a worryingly blunt performance for fans of the club.

Of course, Clarke alone cannot be blamed for the performance and at times the service he was, or rather wasn't getting, took its toll but last year we'd have seen him hussle and harrass to make something happen.

It's early days, but he and the Blades need to shake it up before they start losing serious ground.
