Leeds United were unable to strengthen their position in the Championship play-offs as visitors Cardiff City left Elland Road on Saturday with all three points after a 2-0 victory.

Neil Warnock's men made the trip to Yorkshire knowing a win would widen the gap between themselves and the relegation zone, meanwhile Garry Monk was hoping to reduce the number of points separating his team and the automatic promotion spots.

Although, the Bluebirds had the first say of the match when it took either side to break the deadlock eight minutes after the break. Sean Morrison was able to convert his header past Rob Green to give the Welsh outfit an advantage.

Despite Leeds United seemingly dominating play throughout the afternoon, Cardiff doubled their lead 20 minutes from time as Aron Gunnarsson paced through on goal to set up team-mate Kenneth Zohore.

There would be more dismay for Monk's team as Liam Bridcutt received his marching orders late on for two bookable offences.

Leeds supporters will be frustrated that they weren't able to catch promotion rivals Reading on Saturday, who dropped two points at home to Barnsley. As for Cardiff City, that win means they're 14th in the table and ten points safe of the dreaded drop zone.

Here's how both sets of fans reacted on Twitter following the result......

Leeds United supporters, what did you make of that display? What needs to improve to stop this small slump? How big a miss was Pontus Jansson?

Cardiff City fans, what's your thoughts on the performance? Is relegation still a possibility or are you safe now? Who would have been your man of the match?
