Being a Birmingham City supporter isn't much fun at the moment, having gone from play-off hopefuls to now strong relegation candidates in their current lack of form under Gianfranco Zola.

The Blues sit 18th in the Championship table as of writing this and it's just six points which separates them with the drop, but the fear shouldn't be as aggressive as it as the club have a confident run-in to the end of the season - Huddersfield being the highest-placed opponent left to play.

Birmingham have a very large squad, in my opinion, and some of the first-team just haven't met up with the requirements expected from the supporters, alongside the manager who is likely to leave this summer.

If Zola does depart St. Andrew's over the next couple of months then a few players will surely follow him out the exit, as the club looks a potential major overhaul in the transfer window.

Here are TWO Birmingham City footballers who need to be axed and dispensed as soon as possible......

Clayton Donaldson

Clayton Donaldson's goal scoring ratio this season speaks for itself, simply appalling for a Championship forward.

The 33- year-old has bagged just six goals in 21 league appearances.

The striker started the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, despite Gianfranco Zola placing Lukas Jutkiewicz on the bench, who is more likely to score and get Birmingham out of this mess than Donaldson.

The Jamaican forward still has one-year left on his contract at the Midlands outfit but should be let go this summer, simply because he doesn't suit the way forward for the Blues.

Paul Robinson

The veteran defender has been prominent within Birmingham City's backline this campaign, having started the previous seven matches before being dropped by Zola for the trip to Brighton on Tuesday.

Paul Robinson, 38, has lost a lot of his pace over the last few years and has been at fault for numerous goals this season.

Before missing out the midweek fixture, he had kept just one clean sheet since the derby against Wolves.

In my opinion, the centre-back isn't up to the standards and doesn't mix with this new brand of play Zola has implemented - Robinson certainly has helped in Birmingham's demise since December.

Blues supporters, agree or disagree? Will Zola be gone? Who else should be axed? Give us your thoughts in the comments below!
