Ritchie De Laet has issued a message to Aston Villa fans after his recent departure from Villa Park.
The Belgian defender recently sealed a loan move to Australian outfit Melbourne City after being made surplus to requirements under Steve Bruce, after making just two appearances for the West Midlands club this season.
Bruce recently admitted that it had been a “frustating time” for De Laet who was still said to be recovering from a “serious injury”.
Villa are in dismal form in the Championship at the moment, failing to find a win in their last four league outings, as they prepare to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
Here, we take to Twitter to get the views of Villa fans after De Laet’s recent message…
'Never really got going' – basically, never been given a chance. Should be in our first team but good luck in Australia. Bruce & wet weather or Aus & regular footy. Know where I'd go.
