Norwich City's season is now over after an entertaining 2-2 draw away at Barnsley yesterday, and it was at Oakwell where they lifted the Championship trophy after a fantastic season.

The Canaries didn't quite crack the 100 point mark this season but they got awfully close to it, achieving 97 points in the end with back-to-back losses coming against Bournemouth and Watford recently when promotion was already secured.

They've been guided by the goals of Teemu Pukki and Emi Buendia though, who scored 41 times between them and the latter was probably the most influential player in the whole division, with his stats showing 15 goals and 17 assists for the Championship season.

One player who probably went slightly under the radar due to the success of Buendia was Todd Cantwell, who had a breakout campaign in the Premier League in 2019-20 with six goals.

The 23-year-old scored the same amount this season in the Championship with also seven assists to his name and this is now his second promotion with his boyhood club, having been at the Canaries since he was a child.

And Cantwell penned a message on Twitter following lifting the league title once again which seemed to address the doubters he has had during his career.

The Verdict

Even though he may have gone slightly under the radar due to the success of Buendia, Cantwell has still been a key cog in Daniel Farke's system.

It does seem like the mercurial Argentinian has done most of the work for Norwich, but Cantwell provides that balance on the left-hand side.

Cantwell will be desperate for another crack at the Premier League and he will have learnt a lot with a full season in the Championship under his belt - in 12 months time we could potentially see an England international.
