‘Joy to watch’ – Plenty of Blackburn fans delighted with loan man who ‘ran the game’ against Coventry

It was a good day for Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, as they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners away to ten man Coventry City at St Andrew’s.

After three games without a win, it was a welcome return to form for Tony Mowbray’s side, who climbed to tenth in the Championship table, with ten points from seven league games so far.

One player who made a particular impact for Rovers in that win in the Midlands, was Harvey Elliott.

In just his second start for the club following his deadline day loan move from Liverpool, the 17-year-old enjoyed a day he will never forget, scoring his first senior goal to become the club’s fourth youngest ever goalscorer.

Having found the back of the net, Elliott then turned provider, linking up brilliantly with Lewis Holtby to cut through the Coventry defence and into the area, where he then cut back for substitute Sam Gallagher to net his first goal of the season.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Elliott’s performance was one that earned plenty of praise from Blackburn’s fans, as they took to Twitter to react to the victory.

Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say about the teenager.
