According to reputable journalist Alan Nixon, Blackpool winger Liam Feeney could be on his way out of Bloomfield Road this summer.

Neil Critchley has wasted no time in strengthening his squad ahead of next season, after the Tangerines finished 13th in Sky Bet League One in 2019/20.

The likes of Keshi Anderson, Jerry Yates, Oliver Sarkic and CJ Hamilton have all signed on the dotted line at Bloomfield Road - four players who will all add quality in depth to their attacking ranks.

According to Nixon, though, this could lead to the departure of Liam Feeney, who could be on his way out of the club this summer.

Feeney endured a standout individual campaign in 2019/20, registering an impressive 18 assists across all competitions for Blackpool.

The 33-year-old was voted as Blackpool's Player of the Season at the start of the month, but with only one year left on his contract at Bloomfield Road, his future is now reportedly uncertain.

The Verdict

It would be a bit of a surprise to see Feeney leave Blackpool this summer given the season he's just had in League One.

18 assists is highly impressive in League One, and he might even feel that he can still cut it in the Championship as he approaches the latter stages of his career.

Blackpool have brought in plenty of exciting, young talents since the end of last season, and that might be the may in which Critchley wants the club to operate, having been heavily involved with the youth team at Liverpool.
