Swansea City are considering appointing Cameron Toshack as their new manager, according to a reliable journalist.

Swansea are looking for a new manager after Graham Potter left the club to join Brighton earlier this week and Toshack is thought to be under consideration for the job.

Riath Al-Samarrai, a sports journalist for the Daily Mail, delivered the update on social media with this message via Twitter, also revealing that former Wales manager Chris Coleman is not currently in the frame for the role.

Toshack, son of Welsh legend John, is currently manager of the Swans' under-23 side and is expected to be interviewed for the role.

Potter guided Swansea to a top-half finish in the Championship this season and helped the team reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The Verdict:

Potter leaving for Brighton has got to be considered a massive blow for Swansea, but perhaps Toshack could be a good replacement for him at the Liberty Stadium, as he is somebody who already knows the club well.

He has done a good job for the Swansea under-23 side and would be working with a lot of his former players.

He has no experience of managing in the Championship though, so his appointment would have to be considered a risk and perhaps Swansea will opt for somebody with more experience.
