Swansea City are looking to receive around £18-20million for reported Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Joe Rodon, according to Alan Nixon.

Rodon has recently attracted interest from Spurs after a number of impressive defensive performances for Swansea over the past couple of seasons, with a potential exit now on the horizon.

Football London's Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold has recently played down talk that Spurs will spend big on Rodon, tipping the club to spend just beneath £10million for Rodon.

Quiz: Do Cardiff City and Swansea City have these 10 things in common?

But Alan Nixon has now made it clear that Swansea are demanding around £18-20million for the centre-half, which could potentially put off Spurs in their pursuit.

Rodon still has another two years left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium, so Swansea won't be looking to sell the defender any rush before the transfer window closes on Friday.

His defensive performances alongside Ben Cabango last season saw Swansea reach the play-off semi-finals, and he has come up leaps and bounds under Steve Cooper.

The Verdict

Swansea have every right to demand that sort of money for Rodon, and they can't allow Spurs to think that they can get him on the cheap.

He still has another two years left on his deal and is arguably their most important player at the moment, so that will come at a price.

He's only 22-years-old as well, so he's only going to get better due to his large potential. Swansea will be so reluctant to lose him, and £10million would be a bad deal for the Welsh side.
