Despite Aston Villa's financial crisis, Ross McCormack still has no place in Steve Bruce's plans and is available for transfer, according to John Percy of The Telegraph.

Bruce is not willing to give McCormack another chance at Aston Villa, despite facing the very real possibility of losing a number of players because they need to raise funds to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Scott Hogan and Jonathan Kodjia could be two players on their way out, leaving Aston Villa short in the striker department.

But even in that case, McCormack will not be invited back into the squad and he has not taken part in pre-season training as it is made very clear that the Scotland international is available for transfer.

The 31-year-old joined the Villans in summer 2016, but has only scored three times in 24 games.

Bruce has frozen McCormack out and he has since had loan spells with Nottingham Forest and Melbourne City.

The Verdict

I cannot see any team wanting to spend any money on McCormack so Villa are not going to raise funds with his sale.

McCormack's whole career at Aston Villa has been shambolic and he just needs to escape for his own sake and the club's.

Bruce has never favoured the Scotsman and is trying everything to get rid of him.
