The situation surrounding Bolton Wanderers doesn't appear to be set for an imminent conclusion with reports revealing that another interested party in the club has emerged.

Even though Football Ventures (Whites) Limited were named as the preferred bidder for the Trotters earlier this month, a deal hasn't yet gone through with an issue concerning the nearby hotel.

The hotel is still available but any buyers of the club will be pushing to have that included.

And, Sun reporter Alan Nixon has given an update on the situation, revealing last night that another interested party has come forward at this late stage.

"Bolton. Interested party in hotel AND club. However. Won’t buy hotel without club. Football Ventures still preferred bidder on club front. This is all messy. This guy isn’t the Bassini fella either."

The new season for Phil Parkinson's side kicks-off in under three weeks time and the manager has been unable to seriously strengthen his squad due to the off-the-field issues that need sorting first.

They will already be starting life in the third tier with a 12 point deduction.

The Verdict

This is not the news that Bolton fans will have wanted as they are desperate for this to finally end so they can look forward to next season under new owners.

However, there's not much they can do. It's about sorting the right deal for everything and so far that hasn't happened.

The fresh interest isn't going to help though as it could just make this process last longer, which is what nobody wants.

So, it will be interesting to see how this plays out but Football Ventures are still in the best position and everyone connected to the club will hope an announcement can be reached soon.
