Sheffield United were handed a boost ahead of this weekend's game against Hull City after manager Chris Wilder revealed that George Baldock has a chance of making the game. The right wing-back was replaced an hour into the midweek defeat at QPR and was initially expected to be out.

Journalist Jonathan Buchan, from BBC Radio Sheffield revealed the news with the above tweet and Blades fans will be hopeful that Baldock will make it. Kieron Freeman is the obvious stand-in for the ex-MK Dons player, however, as the tweet shows he is one of the long-term absentees along with Ched Evans. Therefore, it would be a bit of a problem for Wilder if Baldock was unable to play at Bramall Lane this weekend.

The Blades are looking to get back to winning ways and regain one of the top two automatic promotion positions after midweek victories for Wolves and Cardiff saw them leapfrog Wilder's men. They face a Hull side on Saturday who have just won one away game all season, whereas Sheffield United boast the best home record in the division.

The Verdict

George Baldock has had a very good season for the Blades since getting into the team and provides them with a great threat down the right.

He would be a big miss on Saturday although with the international break coming up it's good news that he will only seemingly miss one game at worst.

However, Chris Wilder will want his best team out there on Saturday as they look to maintain their excellent start and that will include Baldock.
