It's been a very tough time for Bolton at the moment, with Phil Parkinson's side currently in the bottom three of the Championship.

As well as that, the financial problems that have impacted the club in recent years were evident once again after it emerged the players wouldn't be paid their November wages on time.

And, Bolton News reporter Marc Iles has revealed the latest on the situation, with several senior players speaking to owner Ken Anderson.

He is believed to have informed the players that they will be paid by Thursday 6 December.

However, this isn't the first time that this has happened at the club and it remains to be seen whether they will be paid by that date.

The players previously went on strike in July over issues with unpaid wages and bonuses, which resulted in a friendly against St. Mirren being cancelled.

The Trotters, who are without a win in nine, which includes seven losses, are back in action tomorrow as they welcome Wigan in what Parkinson will see as a very winnable game.

Despite their struggles, only goal difference keeps Bolton in the bottom three.

The Verdict

This is very worrying news for Bolton and the fact it isn't the first time this has happened is alarming.

It can't have a positive impact on the mood around the club and it makes Parkinson's job tougher as he tries to help the side out of this slump.

Now, the players will hope that the comments from Anderson are correct and the payment does arrive by Thursday.
