Leeds United are looking worse for wear after their disappointing FA Cup exit at the weekend, with a 2-1 defeat against League Two side Newport County.

Leeds fans would have been confident on their side bringing a victory back to Elland Road as they headed into their encounter at Rodney Parade.

However, they were left demoralised after Gaetano Berardi's first-half wonder-strike was ruled out with an 89th minute winner, leaving fans speechless at the final whistle.

After the weekend's defeat, Thomas Christiansen will be looking to bring in some more reinforcements to bolster their squad after already adding Finnish youngster Aapo Halme to his ranks this window.

It seems that bosses at Elland Road have agreed personal terms on a four-and-a-half-year deal with Club Brugge left-back Laurens De Bock, ahead of his supposed move to Elland Road.

Indeed, an update has now been provided in the progress of that transfer as Leeds United reporter Phil Hay took to his personal Twitter account (@PhilHayYEP) to share the update:

So, it looks as if Leeds will have landed their man with the next couple of days as his medical is suggested to be put into place sometimes in the next 24 hours.

Indeed, United will benefit from the adventure that this man provides down the left-hand flank with a very dangerous attacking side to his game, while now being able to move Berardi into a more suited position.

The verdict

Will be a class addition for them.

Now, with a proper left-back in the side. The 25-year-old will provide solid performances for the club both in defence and attack as he'll look to create and provide solidity.

A signing that will make many Leeds fans happy, and will now give them the best chance of cementing their place in the play-offs.
